Kinja'd!!!

A friend signed me up for an e-mail newsletter subscription from Ecomodder when I was building the electric car.

Yeah, gearhead/Oppo and ecomodder. Kinda like being bisexual.

Anyway, I really like to read some of the forums to see what wild and bizarre things people do to their cars to hypermile.

Some are just plain funny. Like, “Why do my belly panels keep blowing off at highway speeds? I put them on with a lot of tape?”

I hate those wheels. They don’t fit on virtually anything and everything.

Gotta hand it to him, it’s distinctive. This car has been through so many different permutations over the years, I remember when it was just a chopped Metro. It says “100mpg” on it, and I’d say it’ll do it.

Yeah, I’d say he has ticked off all of the boxes. Gotta hand it to these folks, they are dedicated.

Ecomodding is exactly the same as performance modding. It’s just a different overall goal. Kinda like hillclimb vs. drag racing. Completely different mods and completely different goals.

Yep. I understand their mindset. I love to read some of the innovative things they do to achieve their goals. We all love cars and driving. That’s what brings us together.

I still occasionally look for underside panels from the civic hybrid for my coupe. At one point, when I traveled from McAllen TX to Los Angeles, I rocked the hybrid flat wheels.

‘Honda made a hybrid coupe? Whaaaat?’ Was the usual reaction.

I feel like this muffler has to weigh enough to justify lopping it off.
